Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):When xenos press the middle mouse, they activate their special ability, when marines click the middle mouse, it should activate their attachment (grenade launcher, flamethrower ETC)
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): QoL

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): When you hit the middle mouse, it activates the special attachment verb.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

Middle mouse button should turn on the load-from-attachment verb by default so it would trigger the underbarrel grenade launcher.
Always thought about this.
+1 for adding a use to middle mouse button.

That sounds cool but what if they made it so it would use they weapons special like the grenade launcher? :p

I think people setup macros for that and it might be able to be edited in a way so...unsure what to set this for.

MMB is locked for "change hand" and it should stay this way.

Use hotkey mode and get used to using X instead. A lot more robust.

Playing like this since 2010, don't teach me how to be robust. Hotkeys mode was made for unrobust pussies.

Anyway, most of the time you won't be shooting your attachment, plus it's RP-wise to use more than 1 button to fire it. Totally against this idea.

You use one button to fire it either way. Also, this might mean people actually start to take the mini flamer/masterkey shotgun, because they'd have the ability to panic shotgun if they really needed it, or use the flamethrower without having to move their mouse away from the action like you currently do.

I'm not familiar with not-hotkey mode, the guy who told me about it told me to press tab so I assume that's what hotkey mode is, is middle mouse the only way to chance hands when you're not in hotkey mode?

Pgup is another button, but it's obviously less handy. Anyway, like I said, if you watched original movie or played any games - it always takes 2 movements to fire an underbarrel attachment. Plus, don't forget gun might have more that one attachment.

By any means it's a bad idea, cause it'll ruin gameplay for lots of non-hotkeys players with a little trade-off in more easier attachment fire.

Alright, but one of those actions was always prepping the weapon for use, and the other was firing, so maybe bind another key (not mmb) to prep the attachments to fire?

I am planning to change the hotkey middle mouse to a point instead, which is more in line with the other functions. We'll figure out what to do with the gun toggle at a later point.
