Extinction rule

Post by Sarah_U. » 13 Aug 2016, 08:43

Hello hello,
I'm here to talk about the extinction rule.
Its margin, how it works and what should be improved on it.

For those that doesn't know the extinction rule, it's as simple as follow:
You may not actively hunt anything from a faction that's about to be entirely destroyed (dying hive / surviving cowardly marines)

My first question is: Is that rule still in effect currently. Rumours has it it's not, but some people still talk to me about it (Most of them being staff themselves).
If it is, here are a few suggestions: You're allowed to stalk and hunt preys if the hunt is stalling and must be closed, but only planetside. Doing so will require the approval of all your hunting partners, including elders if present.
If aliens are unable to push, and marines are camping with few numbers on the Sulaco (Check crew monitor first), you shouldn't kill the aliens as they're trying to fight the marines who don't deserve your assistance in surviving.

Things like that... Maybe make it require a mod+ thing where they see the round stalling and ask you at your own discretion to attack lifeforms that are prey on the planet?

All of these are ideas, suggestions and concerns. Falls to the staff to discuss of this. If it's not a thing anymore well... Would be interesting to have feedback since I didn't quite see it in the honour code to begin with.
CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

This rule was removed, do to the simple fact of, without any min powers, a standard pred can't gage the ratio of human to xeno. But if we could figure out a way to set up a "xeno monitor computer" or a "Good sport" computer that showed which side has the upper hand, i'd be in favor of rule re-enstation.
