Move it Spunkmeyer,we're rolling!

Post by danmax67 » 17 Aug 2016, 18:21

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Basically,if a pilot's driving the Rasputin and an Ayylium kills him,the ship crashes. It's debris appears somewhere,if over any marines those marines will die.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):It'll finally let us pilots recreate that one scene from Aliens.
"Where the fu-" SHANK STAB DEATH,annnndddd crashing on some skr00b muhrines.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):Well,if the Pilot's in the Pilot seat and they get stabbed, then the ship will go out of control and crash, killing the ayyliums inside. This COULD be avoided, however,if the Marines took control and managed to click the button in time. As for marines on the ground, they'd somehow be warned of the incoming dropship, maybe a shadow appearing above them.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):coding and stuff.

-1 Removes one of the only 2 ways to get to the colony from orbit, and wasn't an issue beforehand. Additionally, implementation would be an absolute bitch (the EASIEST way I can think of being forcing the shuttle to centcom, gibbing all occupants, disabling all shuttle consoles, and spawning a maxcap bomb at some random location in the colony).

Would be cool, but gameplay trumps realism in this case.

-1 That will basically would cause our beloved staff to do additional coding for this thing and more likely cause lag, making them work a bit. Additionally, xenos thus will Meta game or power game their way and sneak aboard and purposely cause it to crash. So ima gonna have to say nope, can't have that up on CM.
"Young Carrier (920) (follow) hisses, "Shut up both of you or we aren't going to invade disneyland."

Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

-1. Multiple reasons, chief among them is game balance and coding. Theres tons of cool stuff in the movies, but unfortunatly, some things just dont translate well to another medium
Gaze upon me,
for I have wandered deep into the ancient tombs of knowledge to which lie madness and sorrow, cleansing a path for all those who walk behind me...

...

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!

While this is technically possible, I think it would lead to a lot of angry marines when they die in a fiery explosion because of something minor, like losing the pilot. We have some ideas for the pilot job, but crashing is probably not going to be one of them.

That's it man, thread over. Thread over.

-1, too much work, bottlenecks gameplay, and hurts aliens
