Late night during Low Pop Hours we were able to witness a very rare event. An Honor Duel between a Marine and Predator that ended in blood-shed.
The two go head to head, the Predator makes an amazing strike, making the Marine buckle. Meanwhile the Queen spectates along with the Hive-lord from great front row seats. They crack jokes and place their bets.
A few bad apple marines bust in on the duel and puts it on pause, the Queen is displeased and reacts swiftly to restore order in the Gladiator Arena.
The worthy warriors go head to head, toe to toe, bathing themselves in their opponents blood. They trade blow for blow.
The Marine manages to get the upper hand over the predator and deals some extra damage to the predator, The Hive-lord is displeased as he has placed his entire savings on the Predator. The Queen jumps out of her seat with excitement to see the Predator fall.
The Predator recovers and is thrilled with excitement for battle. With a swift and unexpected move he disables the Marine, though he will choose not to deal extra damage to the downed marine, showing honor in his trade for a fair fight. The Predator then throws the barbaric weapon at the feet of the Marine. The Queen is quite pleased and though she has not placed her bet on the Predator, she applauds.
The Marine is back up, replenished with adrenaline, he would begin to engage his opponent. The Predator preparing himself, beats his chest, offering challenge. What happens next is unexpected...
The Marine dodges the Predators moves, side steps to the left and back to the right, frustrating the Predator, the Marine takes advantage and manages the upper hand, continuing to deal damage to end the duel. The Xenomorphs roar with awe, but the Hive-lord is displeased and does not approve of the Marines unwillingness to let the Predator recover to his feet. The Queen waves the Marine to continue.
The Predator defensively recovers and puts distance between he and the Marine. Both exhausted from a long drawn out battle, both exhausted from the pain from their wounds, both exhausted from mental challenge of surviving, the crowd demands more action, or they both would be devoured....
The two charge at each other to make one final stand, neither showing fear of death, no fear of pain, no fear of suffering, both confident that either of them would meet a swift death very soon... The crowd roars.
The Predator, as the Hive-lord predicted, delivers the final blow while dodging the Marines attack.. The Queen hisses with displeasure.
The Predator finishes the Marine, giving him an honorable death, claiming victory and his honor as well.
The Predator presents his Trophy, the head of the Marine, in Honor of his Clan to the Queen in hopes of approval and acknowledgement. Though the Queen has lost her bet to the Hive-Lord, she approves and spares the warriors life. The Hive-lord greedily takes his earnings in one-million plasma, and proceeds to build a great wall of Resin at the river. The crowd roars, claiming their new Champion.

It was a great bout. You did good Spartan, it would've been more fair if the Predator removed his armor.

Oh, how I yearn to get accepted as a predator.. What fun it must be to have an honor duel.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

I like seeing people's expectations when they're blissfully unaware of what being a predator is really like.Renomaki wrote:Oh, how I yearn to get accepted as a predator.. What fun it must be to have an honor duel.
It helps me go to bed amused and sad.
As for the duel, good commentary. Do you know which predator it was?
