Dossier: B18 Advanced Combat Chassis [Classified]
Development History
► Show Spoiler
Developed as part of a failed supersoldier program, the B18 ACC still sees use in the USCM despite being too heavy for unenhanced humans to operate at full speeds. It provides exceptional protection and adaptability for soldiers under heavy fire with many advanced features.
Features
► Show Spoiler
The most notable feature of the B18 armor is the heavy titanium alloy plated that are affixed head to toe. Servos in the limbs allow the 150lb armor to be used somewhat slower than normal, as it was designed for superhuman strength and endurance.
Soldiers using the B18 armor install a central line IV hooked up to an embedded tricordazine synthesizer, similar to what is found in a standard issue medibot. This allows the soldier to administer controlled bolus directly into the circulatory system. Standard Marines are not recommended to use this feature due to the risk of overdose.
A microprocessor in the armor is able to detect bone breaks in limbs and provide rigid compression for feet, hands, arms, and legs to help a wounded soldier to continue to function despite broken bones.
Perhaps the most advanced feature of B18 armor is the lockdown mode. Microrails in the boots are capable of embedding anchors in solid steel and servos in the legs and chest lock the armor in a rigid position, while allowing full arm and head mobility. This the soldier from being moved or knocked down while engaged with performance equivalent to standard dropship harnesses.
Nanotechnology similar to WY Organ Equivalents have been used for the comparatively fragile B18 helmet, though a standard tube of nanopaste may be entirely consumed to repair significant damage.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
B18 is now fully specialist worthy and gains a few additional UI buttons and features.
1) Instead of 2 tricord injectors the armor gains a tricord synthesizer that injects 5u with a cooldown between. On non-specialist it inflicts a 60u overdose
2) Armor functions as splints for hands, feet, arms and legs. If easier it could automatically count as splints, or a button added to auto-splint all limbs, causing additional fractures in non-specialists.
3) lockdown icon causes the armor to be essentially buckled in place, causing pounces to bonk, neurotox not to knock down, and a crusher charge to knockdown the crusher and the B18 user. B18 wouldn't be able to pull a locked down B18 in place, making it easier to rescue them if hugged.
4) Broken B18 helmets can be repaired with time and nanopaste, which is consumed in the process.
