Surgery Bugs
Bug Description: 1.) Shrapnel RNG still exists when doing surgery (at least when try to pull things from the groin and head).
2.) When do surgery I constantly get the message "You have failed to start surgery. Please aim at the organ you originally operated on" even if I haven't even done the first step for surgery (basically when I am actually trying to START surgery). It also occurs when I am in the middle of surgery and haven't targeted a different section of the body. It will then occur for about four or so more times before finally letting me continue the surgery.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Do Surgery.
2. Wait till they occur.
3. Rage.

Re: Surgery Bugs
I can confirm this bug exists. Even when you don't move or do anything, this message randomly pops up and you have to retry again.Snypehunter007 wrote:... "You have failed to start surgery. Please aim at the organ you originally operated on"...

Re: Surgery Bugs
Yeah but if I remember this "failed to start surgery bug" becomes more of an issue if you switch hands to grab tools mid surgery (which is technically a bug, but a bug/design oversight medical likes). Honestly it wouldn't be as infuriating if it told you instantly instead of the end of step since you have to redo the step over and over again until it works for some magically reason

Re: Surgery Bugs
The problem is, even without switching hands or doing anything, it sometimes randomly pops up and says failed to start surgery.. It's irritating at best, frustrating at worst when there's so many patients waiting outside.

Re: Surgery Bugs
Can confirm, but annoyingly random. A workaround is to drop the tool, pick something else up, walk 3-4 tiles away, then try again. Usually works, but horribly vague.

Re: Surgery Bugs
Yep I get that bug too, normally takes 2-3 attempts then it sorts itself out

Re: Surgery Bugs
I just walk away for 8 seconds the go back. As for the shrapnel, don't really know. Yes the idea for no shrapnel randomness was accepted but maybe they are probably still coding it out.

Re: Surgery Bugs
I can confirm this happens a lot now. I can literally click to start cutting, take my hand off the mouse, and just watch, and it will give me the bug. I have tried making to the mouse cursor is hovering over the body part, but that's doesn't help.
I am talking about in pristine settings, where I am wearing clean gloves/mask and the operating table is clean, no one is nearby making noises or shooting guns, just me and the sedated patient. It happens with scalpel and with cauterizer actions. I don't recall it happening with any other instruments. This is a bug that will happen 8 times in a row, and then not for the rest of the day; completely (seemingly) random.
Check the order of the if statements? Any memory overflow on variables ending up off by one or the like in certain edge cases? There is some minor error in the logic of the checks for whether the surgeon has moved or not.

Re: Surgery Bugs
Taking multiple attempts to find shrapnel to remove makes sense to me, and is unrelated to the OP bug.Casany wrote:I just walk away for 8 seconds the go back. As for the shrapnel, don't really know. No longer happens to me so. And Dylan apparently fixed it so.
