Thoughts of xenos Meta running from pred explosion
I presume there might have been chats about this but I just wanted to start this thread of such frustration and quite curious on your opinion on such matter. I have witnessed this quite a few times and not amused nor am I a fan of such, Xenos running from first beep once the pred has started their Final Countdown is quite annoying. I do recall recently in a round I got ganged up by three of em, once I got into crit, they all immediately leave once the first beep sounds, no admins were currently on at that time. From another point yeah, do we wish for them to die or asking basically die no, simply just knowing a pred explosion from a xeno and immediately running is what grinds my gears.
"Young Carrier (920) (follow) hisses, "Shut up both of you or we aren't going to invade disneyland."
Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

Re: Thoughts of xenos Meta running from pred explosion
I don't want to make people take damage and then get them in trouble if they refuse.
No matter how salty I may be, I'd ask to get them revived if they stood around and died. People value their player characters.
We could make the countdown shorter, but eh.

Re: Thoughts of xenos Meta running from pred explosion
Xenos meta-running from bracer detonations (and on a related note, orbital bomardments) is just that; meta.
However, can you really fault people for not wanting to die to something so easily avoidable? I don't think it's fair to expect people to stand around and wait to die simply for the sake of avoiding meta (heck, you could even argue they're leaving the predator as it's no longer a threat, not because it's about to explode ).
That said, I will acknowledge it has been frustrating to watch xenos and marines alike meta-flee the blast radius, and I personally have failed to get even a single kill from 3+ detonations.
Personally I believe that, rather than attempting to enforce rules about meta-fleeing, it may be more worthwhile to instead increase the blast radius. People will always follow their instincts, you can't really blame them for that. But by increasing the blast to compensate, there remains a chance that they'll be caught by the explosion.

I will never punish any player for running away from Bracers, Orbital Bombards or Explosions.
It's silly to say "Hey you have to take this damage no matter and die".

Re: Thoughts of xenos Meta running from pred explosion
I personally prefer players that let themselves get blown by explosions for the flavour of not knowing, much like xenos are careless as all hells and rush toward preds as they suicide-fight over pyramids, but that's a preference and it's highly understandable anyone would run from a menacing BEEP... BEEEEEEP!... BEEEEEEEEEEEP!
My only concern is the fact you can't detonate at will, which would be imba, but relatively fine to me as predators have been seen intentionally fighting a last stand knowing they'd die, but unable to fight and forced to get their head chopped off (Decap OP).

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.
