Visual Indicator For What Spit Type Is Active

Post by Godzillan » 09 Sep 2016, 03:31

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add some way to see if you're spitting nerutoxin or corrosive acid globs, same with Boiler's bombard types

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Quality of life for Spitter/Praetorian/Boiler players as well as preventing said castes from accidentally harming infected hosts

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Add an indicator on screen or in the status panel saying "You are spitting nonlethal neurotoxin/lethal acid", could also stand to do the same with tail attacks as more than a few times I've accidentally used my tail attack and then got confused when I lost all my plasma
As an alien, I am an advocate for ancient spitters.
As a marine, I'm either an Indian tech support BO or a friendly-firing power donkey.

I was a boiler once, and thought I was using acid the entire time.. It wasn't until I tried to toggle spit that I realized that I was using the wrong type of bombard.

Same here, marines were assaulting and I thought I was keeping them at bay with corrosive acid, turns out I was using neuro the whole time, really pissed me off i got a few direct hits as well.

+1 This would be pretty good for an ease of use when using the spit types, can't really see any down sides either as long as it doesn't clutter your screen.

Maybe, if we want to put some work on it, change the colour of the acid sacks on the sprites of ranged Aliens depending on which type is used.

+1, though. Once I had a boiler that kept firing nonlethals accidentally.

But seriously, does uh, anyone know the way out?!
