Add a "Toggle Darkvision" Button to the Alien HUD
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
The Alien HUD buttons already include things like the "Tail Attack". Add another button for the "Toggle Darkvision" command.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
This may be one of the most used abilities for many Xeno players. New players (especially new runners) may not realize that the Xenos can see in the dark or how important this is. Adding this button in an obvious place would reinforce the Alien darkvision as an important ability. It might also be helpful having a more obvious indicator of whether this ability is on or off. The button helps anybody who hasn't got a macro.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
I don't think this is hard. Add a square button. Give it a fun graphic. Connect it to the existing Alien ability.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Not a coder, but this sounds almost like copy & paste to me.

I'm almost certain this was once a thing, it has been so long since I've played alien that I actually thought it still was.

While this would be a nice feature, you really need macros to play xeno effectively anyway.

I beg to differ!Toroic wrote:While this would be a nice feature, you really need macros to play xeno effectively anyway.
But yes, this would be a good feature for people that can't find the verb. Or ever played SS13 before.

I do have a macro for this but I think a hud button for it would be a nice little addition

I don't use macros. Of course, I play spitter, so my play may be different than your close-quarters play.Toroic wrote:While this would be a nice feature, you really need macros to play xeno effectively anyway.

Re: Add a "Toggle Darkvision" Button to the Alien HUD
Some people can play some castes effectively without macros, but every caste is more efficient with them, especially ones with many verbs.
Queen for example without macros can't be played at nearly the same level. Screech timing, seeing your accurate plasma total while building, combat building, egg spam simply don't work as well.
New players could benefit from a darkvision button, but I have it bound to shift + Q because I tend to switch it frequently. Easier to see preds in the dark, and you can track marines by the edge of their light radius.

The alien hud could use some changes like letting you hoover over plasma to see how much plasma you have etc

+1, but if you're not a huge scrub, you already have that verb bound to a macro.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....
