Game mode thread.

since the admins will slap you if you make a suggestion about adding a new game mode, just post your original game modes here. Maybe a mod will do something with it, dunno. For me it would be a game mode where it's just a regular W-Y Research Craft in space where one of the scientists accidentally gets infected when experimenting with a FACEHUGGER found on border planet LV-624. The scientist would be an actual player, and when it chest bursts no one knows what to do since this is just a research ship and there were a limited amount of weapons. Distress beacons would trigger a ship not equipped, such as how the Nostromo went to that distress planet when being severely ill-equipped.

I wanted something like alien isolation, with tiny corridors and survivors to move through ventilation, there would be just one BUFFED as fuck xeno that have max abilities and the life of a queen but very weak to fire, the crew would need to wait 1 hour for a shuttle to come by and rescue them

What about a gang war?

Lets say help never comes to the colony, and two teams of survivors fight each other for resources and land. Small skirmishes take place every now and then, survivors struggle to deal with the stress of of their fellow co-workers being turned against each other to survive.. And all the while, a small group of xenos watch from the shadows, picking off the stragglers and preying on the bickering members of the two warring factions until they are either too weak to put up a fight against the real threat, or desperately put aside their differences and attempt to hold off the growing xeno hordes before they take away what little they have left.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

It use to be a pre-alpha event, basically the aliens had the necromorph sprites or the necromorphs were there own separate mob with alien players placed into(I can't quite recall it was a long time ago this event was run.):

They also had to kill marines instead of infecting and to get more necromorphs there was a giant totem marker Image placed down at where the necromorph base would be and basically to get more necromorphs you'd have to kill a marine and drag their body to the totem and then an admin would gib the body and spawn a necromorph for someone to jump in to.

Was pretty fun when it was around.

Turn the ice colony map into a 'The Thing' themed map. Changelings, basically, but done CM style. Marines and colony staffers on the planet, people chosen at random to be changelings, but closer to the movie than how SS13 has done them traditionally. Things like drops of blood infecting people, absorbing dead bodies for biomass to turn into crazy monsters, ejecting parts of your body to try and survive, etc.

USCM ship vs USSR ship vs Xenos in a triple threat match (1v1v1), both ships land on different locations on a planet like LV-624

m4a1s and SADARs against MAR-40s and RPG7s :D

first team to kill the other ship and all the xenos wins, or alien major ofc

could throw in Preds too for a clusterfuck battle royal :P

PMC v. Xenos gamemode: PMC's are scattered around the colony and a large group at tablefort, there are also: Working Joes and a rouge AI, crazy survivors, and predators. Once the pmc's can sorta make their way to tcomns, they can call a PMC ship (the saluco, but with pmc's on it) which would assist them in helping survivors, killing preds, lynching the AI and joes, and wiping out the xenos.

If you have extreme malice:

Have a gamemode where the Xenos' sprites are replaced with clowns'.

Have a game mode where you switch the Xenos and the marines. The Xenos picked up a distress Queen signal and have to investigate the hive LV-624.

Have a game mode where only melee is allowed.

Have a game mode where friendly fire damage is increased by 500%.

A game mode where you have to board a rival spaceship infested with xenomorphs via umbilicals and secure a hangar if you want to move the rasp or pod in or out. But you don't need to setup power at all.
Bonus points if you space a bunch of xenos in the hangar when opening it for the rasp to land.
Downside is that this would probably require a remap so its not something easily run unless the admins feel like doing a absolute fuckton of teleporting people.

A necromorph game mode would be sick as fuck. But I think it would require a very long time to create and probably not worth it if it's only brought out once a year.

A game mode where marines hold the nexus for 1 hour and supplies are brought in by scout teams every 10 minutes,After the hour is up.The marines hijack a W-Y ship and fly off.(bit like the A:CM game....only good)

There's already sprites?

All we need now is special abilities and the Necromorph creation to be made automatic, then bam, Necromorph gamemode.

Another way to make Necromorphs is through a special Infect ability for the infector
