Post by notasyndie » 19 Sep 2016, 17:18

Ive played here since the beginning of the server but I never played all to often its now becoming my main server and I consider myself to be decently robust, But ive had such a hard time killing the aliens. Im getting better each round I play but I just want to know if this has happens to anyone else.

Observe a round and follow some familiar named Marines.
A lot of being good as a Marines involves setting up macros and shortcuts.

Just using Q to drop items in your hand and X to swap hands quickly is a huge bonus.
Learn the shortcuts and set up macros. (don't ask me how, no idea)

I've never found myself overly robust at killing xenos, much more robust at killing other humans as a human. I don't know man, you'll get into the swing of things, no one starts out good.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Bullets have some travel time, so sometimes you should aim in front of a moving Xeno. Aiming just takes practice!

Remember that being a marine isn't always about killing the enemy it's also about doing the grunt work which nobody wants to do as it's vital for being an effective teammate, squad member and overall team.

These are some of the tasks that I do each round as i'm generally awful in combat and have been for a long time so I pride myself on non-combat tasks instead, they might interest you or not but they help support the team.
Non-combat role tasks:

- Clearing weeds from the area of assault to the frontlines. (Just generally clear weeds where ever you can.)

- Clear Resin structures, resin walls, doors and sticky resin because chances are if the xenos chose to build there and in that manner it would be naive to assume it will help you as a marine by following the tight resin paths.

- Bring back the wounded or dead from the frontlines or if you are out scouting. This is one is rather important as generally on the frontlines everyone gets hooked up in holding the line that when the time comes for a retreat there are still a load of wounded and dead that they need to be brought back and as such that's why it should be a priority to take them back so the marines can fight another day.

- If a marine gets stunned and you see a xeno going for them, run up to the stunned marine and try to defend them best you can, if you have enough time shake them up but usually the best thing to do is pull them back.

- Probably falls under my third point but remember to pick up heads and load them along with the bodies if you can find them on a shuttle back to the Sulaco.

- If there is a spare crate and everything hasn't gone to hell around the Fob take the crate out of the Fob and go around with a few marines collecting empty mags with the crate and once that's done load it up on the shuttle for requisitions to refill.
