Predator leap
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Allow for (non-damaging?) leaping ability for predator.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Allows for increased mobility.
Permits future changes to be applied such as nerf due to new gameplay abilities.
Increases the lore-friendliness and overall similarities to real predators.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
1) Middle click or verb allows for predators to leap a certain distance, stated by balance.
2) A predator using leap cannot use it again for a short cooldown.
3) (Optional) If a predator hit a person he can force him/her/it down. If he hits an object, he get stunned for a second standing still.
4) (Optional) The predator get a 1second inaction delay on the leap forcing him to wait for it to happen as he spring himself up for the leap. He can be tackled to cancel the leap and/or take him down. (Significantly nerf leaping, a good thing somewhat).
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
1 - TIP: Runner leap rework, remove takedown at your discretion.
2 - Something similar to plasma rifle and casters?
3 - Runner pounce 100%, second part would basically force a status effect (Dazed) on the pred for a fixed time.
4 - Start the script, wait a period of time, double-check if the character is still able to move before leap, proceed.
PS: Heavy armor cancels leaping abilities.

I'd be in for riot blocking preds with a small daze (no-stun). After-all it'd make for interesting mechanical plays from a marine just negating your abilities as a predator and forcing you to play smartly to outcun this worthy foe.

Predators arent that fast, their speed is slower than a hunter, or close to it, marines chase them down fine, hunters and runners run away just fine and out of sightusername123 wrote: This, predators are not supposed to be ancient runners.

As for the ability though, I'm neutral. I don't think it's very needed and I think it'd be better if we stick with regular combat instead of "Pounce, lol, instance decap."

Pounce triggers me, but I did see someone talking in-game about how a Predator leap could get a pred on top of the dense jungle tiles.

I'd like to see it more as a shoulder slam. Maybe something that does some damage, pushes the target back and stuns them for a short time.
Heavy armor could increase the damage, but decrease the leap range.
Combistick would compound with the damage, or increase the distance perhaps.

I'd rather they get a 2-tile sidestep ability.
And a speed decrease.
As well as being less tanky...

I actually stated it would be a short-range leap. I don't want the predators to just leap out of action, I want them to be able to have some manoeuver and combat ability with it... Your idea, though, would be grand, Joshuu.
