Description of the incident: I play ayy, I die to boris and his sadar GF.. RIP, I give boris my friendly insults like I always give him. he laughs, I laugh, I say a insult to him in russian cause everyone knows he is russian. next Slc97 swoopes in, gives me a note and a warning, yes I know everyone gets notes every time they are talked too, but a WARNING? spare me. apparently I've broken the rules by communicating in another language, which is true but if you read the rules, it says that insults or basically one liners are alright. and I've NEVER done it before but fuck me right?
Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc):None, lucky me
How you would punish the accused:I don't like punishing people just get rid of my warning.

Re: Slc97 adding a warning, not a note a warning
You've got about 6-8 warnings alone in the last two months for similar OOC in IC etc.
This is the note he left.
Warned for not using English in Dsay. DEAD: Elite Hunter (1) says, "Tvá matka voní jako zemrelí kráva". Told me adding a note was bullshit. Nice guy. by Slc97 (Moderator) on Sun, September 25th of 2016 Remove
You're a xeno, it's never appropriate to be using a different language IC.
This is completely warranted and I would of warned you as well.

Don't know that I would have added a note myself, but SLC was totally within admin protocols to do so.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

So for something where its ok in the rules, plus first time doing so, its warranted to give a warning.

Yes, completely.... thats what a warning is, you do something wrong the first time and someone says "hey man, don't do it again or will have to punish you"..... Thats a warning.

We acknowledge you didn't break the rules, you tread a line, so SLC was making sure you didn't cross it. That doesn't mean you were in the wrong, it was just... preventative medicine.Sars Clayton wrote:So for something where its ok in the rules, plus first time doing so, its warranted to give a warning.
Too many people see "warnings" as a strike system. It doesn't really work that way. Regardless of the interaction, if a staff member speaks to you for 'professional' reasons, they are expected to document the occurance. It's just a way of keeping track of who's been told what. SLC telling you that you've been warned is nothing more than a courtsey to you. He didn't need to tell you he wrote a note, but he decided to disclose that information.

I was there when this took place. You broke the rules where it states this is an English server, words that are well known may be usedan infrequently. But stating an entire sentence in another language is not ok. Slc did his job properly. If we have to speak to you for any reason requiring a rule break. We place a note on your account. There is no such thing as a verbal warning only for first offence. All warning pair with a note saying hey other staff, I've warned this player once for this action. So that way I'd you do it again it's now known that you have already been warned once.

Re: Slc97 adding a warning, not a note a warning
Since people are confusing things. Here let me point this out for you.
We are an ENGLISH ONLY server. Speaking other languages in OOC, LOOC, or DSAY is strictly FORBIDDEN. Our staff also speak only English, so you are required to speak it over staff PMs and Ahelps. IC there is a little bit of leeway if you throw in an occasional word or well-known phrase from another language, but entire conversations in other languages is a no-go. We follow the trope of "everyone in the future speaks English".
There I've outlined the key parts.
