Slightly Salty Soporofic Suggestion

Post by NoahKirchner » 30 Sep 2016, 22:47

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Remove soporific autoinjectors.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):It's kinda useless besides for doctors to drug the shit out of people, and doctor's shouldn't be doing that cuz that's the MP's job,

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):Only remove autoinjectors, keep the drug in bottles etc.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Loads of lore changes

I said to keep soprofic in a bottle, but the injectors are literally an instant stun, and knockout for 10+ minutes.

Hmmm....

*Recalls the time a marine threatened to throw a grenade into an OR where I was working on their buddy*

No thanks. They're needed for very good reasons.

The reason being that most marines are idiots. Think highly of themselves. Think doctors are just there to help THEM. Start fights over nothing.

Soporific injectors are there for a reason. -1.

I mean, if you WANT... It'll take me 25-30 seconds to turn a tricord autoinjector into a sopoforic one, and if I do THAT, I'll make it worse.
Neutral.
Edit- Soporific lets you talk when you're under intermittently. Antitox removes the effects within 30 seconds. Scream for help SPECIFICALLY. Pre-type your scream while you're out. If no one will help, you must be a real dirtbag.

Soporific auto injectors are the least damaging way we have to keep ourselves alive. If you remove auto injectors, we'll use hyposprays. If you remove soporific completely, we'll use chloral hydrate. If you remove that, there are an endless supply of other horrible ways we can put you down.

Fair 'nuff, my biggest problem with soporific is that instant knockdown and the fact that it can keep you on the ground for a good 5-10 minutes. Would a nerf be more acceptable or should I just delete the suggestion? :D

Don't remoce the sophorific. It's the only safe way to put someone from the command to sleep, and then implant, with the CL loyality implants.

I'm neutral on this. On the one hand, it is a good way for doctors to defend themselves nonlethally. On the other hand, doctors can still make their own chloral hydrate and soporific, and removing the anesthetic from the vendor would mean that other people wouldn't have as easy access to it. What I would suggest is removing it from the main nanomeds, but keeping it as one of the bonus items on the marinemeds in the medbay lobby, for CL shenanigans.

It doesn't seem that problematic to me. Based on the feedback, and because doctors only really use it when they need to, I don't see a reason to remove them.
