Developer application (Aztectornado)
Byond ID:Aztectornado
Age:23
Expertise (Coding, Mapping, Spriting):I'm fairly well versed in coding, and can make new processes or items. I can also map, but I have not practiced this much since I lack what I would say a good sense of map balance. (Anyone can map if they use DM). Spriting skills are-.... Eh. I can't draw for shit, but I could recolor sprites or make simple edits if you really needed me to.
If coding, what languages? Dream Maker is the only one I have proof of working in, but I also took classes in C++. (I /should/ an associates in Computer Science: Information Systems, provided that last credit transfers sometime before I die. >.>)
Any previous experience developing with SS13?I have, and still do code for Unbound Travels, a bay forked server, and was Head devoloper there before having to back out due to a mix of server drama and IRL troubles in October. (Had to move from Saudi to the US again)
Proof of any previous or current work (REQUIRED): I have a github here: https://github.com/aztectornado
I've done a lot of small things off and on recently, though more recently I implemented a way for administrators to cancel out fuel tanks that were rupturing and about to explode (A major source of grief and atmos issues, now a thing of the past! Soon to apply to tank transfer bombs, too... When the atmos part of the code starts making sense.)
https://github.com/jamiedigweed/NSS-Pho ... 1443d64c08
https://github.com/jamiedigweed/NSS-Pho ... abffe6ff0d
Also I added a verb to allow ghosted players to edit their characters, as well as changing the html menu so that it'd function properly. (This is when I learned what the hell the difference was between using _src_ and \ref. Weirded me out that it worked until I figured that part out.)
https://github.com/jamiedigweed/NSS-Pho ... 291c87912a
And of course obligatory custom item reskins for donors.
https://github.com/jamiedigweed/NSS-Pho ... 13292368d3
...I'm also very good at merging and retrofitting code from old projects
https://github.com/jamiedigweed/NSS-Pho ... c1fa11ea44
But I largely do small tweaks here and there, like making it so some of the feral races in Bay need not wear shoes, and giving them more options than just clunky wooden sandals.
And y'know, even if I don't have enough time to actively code a bunch because of classes (As is the case now with most things), I could hang around and be there to patch things up as they break.

My 1+ is here.
You seem to be able to work well with a team, and I only have one note on you for when you full stripped, but we can get passed that.

That was my first round on the server, too. I didn't see it in the rules, so I had no idea, and didn't really think it through. I felt like shit for it and Kinda tried to cover the guy while he redressed; apologized a ton in looc.... I was a bad alien. ;w;DoctorClockwork wrote: My 1+ is here.

Definitely seems like you would make a good addition to the dev team.

Usually, we have a test for new devs. Basically, code a new power for an alien (any alien). It won't be included in the game, so don't worry about balance. then, PM me links so I can see the code. Then, you get a shiney new dev tag on the forum, and a coder tag in-game.

Alrighty. What code base should I make it for? I haven't found the git for this one, if there is one.
Or should I just make one up without assuming any other processes I can hook?

Yup! I still code there, like I said in my application.DoctorClockwork wrote: Oh Atz! Now that you changed your pic I remember you!

I like this though. It's fun to play this too, and I can code for both!
Alrighty, anything else before I begin?Infernus wrote: https://github.com/jaggerestep/ColonialMarines

Now working on power. I kinda picked something semi-complex, so-.... Yeah.

Done! Not bad for an hour or two of work and some mousetrap code refitting.

Looks good, except I don't know about how trustworthy the git compiler would be...
Anyway, I'm going to accept it. You should have Dev access to the forum shortly, and a new rank in-game.
