Search user’s posts doesn't work anymore

Bug Description:

Title, before the code leak that made Rahzel update the forum and force everyone to change their password, i was able to use this to read the recent post of people like forwardslashN, MonkeyFist, Abbysynth to be informed about updates, or Apop, Rahzel, Feweh, TR-Blackdragon to be informed about rule updates. But after Rahzel updated the forum, im unable to search the post of the registered users of the forums and now i can't get information about new things like before.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Get in the profile of somebody
2.Click on "Search user’s posts"

Which user are you searching? Is it someone with 0 posts?

Actually been having the same issue since that update, I didn't bring it up since I thought it was being worked on. Having this issue for most players including you

no, I searched your posts and all that came up was a response to a staff app from feb. of 2015 repeated twice on two pages

This seems to be intermittent depending on the person. I'll take a look at permissions.

I am just trying to sort through the "Bug" section Rahl, I am looking through the section for the Dev team, trying to help sort it. Making comments on posts if they are duplicates, asking them to be locked, no longer relevant, confirmed and such. That is why almost all the recent posts in the Bug section are from me.

I am unaware of this bug. I don't search for people's posts so, no as far as I know.

I've just resynced statistics, post counts, dotted topics, and purged the cache. How about now?

You sure it's not a permission problem? because you can check other people posts and regular users can't

It looks more like a bug. One of those screenshots shows a ton of posts found but only 1 shown.

Pretty sure I've tracked this down to an extension we're using - "Permission: Read other users' topics" - which is used for our Donation forum to keep posts semi-private there. The extension might be too aggressive in blocking searches for topics and it ends up blocking unrelated topics. Not 100% on this, but there's a note that seems relevant to it on its download page: "Search is not being handled correctly: Either cache is used when it should have not been or information leak of topic existence happen."

Since we've got donations closed I can probably just disable this extension and hide the donations forum until we have a better solution. Hiding donation topics was more of a consideration than a requirement since we have users' real names in the posts of that forum.

EDIT: Sounds like this is already working immediately without clearing cache/cookies, so the following might not be necessary.

Search has always worked fine for me, so I need someone to verify that it's working for them again. Make sure you clear your browser cache and cookies first.

For Chrome users, hit F12 to open the developer console, then right-click on the reload button near the address bar and choose "empty cache and hard reload", then click on the round "i" icon to the left of the http://www.colonial-marines.com address to view and delete your cookies for the site.
