Which Admin Protocols (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=5647) were broken: Misinterpretation of the rules.

Description of the incident: The CI was trespassing on the bridge after we told him to leave, after he started to kick me and another BO's ass in a fight, I pulled my gun and shot at him, he shot back. I believe this is a proper escalation as he was attacking two BO's, vital to the running of the crew, especially with no SLs, I believe he had intent to kill. I understand escalation is melee weapons after fist, but had none to hand.
Lethal Force - This is defined as one marine purposefully using lethal weapons (guns, explosives, sharp objects, etc) on another marine including beating a marine into crit/death for a roleplay or in-character reason. The difference between this and griefing is that it normally involves 2 or more consenting players in a role-played incident or role-played escalation. A verbal argument followed by immediate murder is not "Lethal Force". You must properly escalate the situation (Argument > Pushing/Shoving/punching > Melee weapons > Guns). If you participate in a lethal force situation (even defending yourself) you are waiving your right to Admin assistance (defined below). THIS DOES NOT PREVENT IC CONSEQUENCES SUCH AS DEMOTION OR ARREST. The key part of "Lethal Force" is that it is Roleplayed.
*Admin assistance - Defined as any action taken by any Staff to heal or aid in a player's negative state.

This is the escalation rule, as two BOs life was threatened at that point I saw fit to shoot him, as there was no Sls we was the last people controlling the marines, without us they would have died.

From an outside perspective, I think Jones was fully within the right to call this improper escalation. In the logs, you can see the CL was aiming his gun, not directly opening fire first (like you did). Coupled with the fact you admitted to not having read the proper escalation rules gives me some pause.

Actually... aiming a gun at someone is pretty much a really good reason to shoot said person.
Also, the CL coming into the bridge as a non official USCM crew-member and starting fight with command staff using harmful intent would be a good reason to blow some holes in him.

On a note, the vars dont show aiming so possible miss-interpration,to which I am sorry, nor did you mention the aiming, and technicly its not tresspassing, as the liason has access to the bridge.
