Nesting removes Fire

Post by Jroinc1 » 21 Oct 2016, 13:08

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Nesting a burning human will extinguish fire on them.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):If a WP round or flamer hits someone captured or nested, and they catch alight, there is NO WAY for ayys to stop them from burning to death. Over about 2 minutes. Ouch. Especially if it hits a nest cluster.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):If a burning host is nested, it extinguishes fire on him. If an already nested host is lit, he must be un-nested then re-nested (This gives a SMALL chance of escape, as rescue is SO close it's actually burning you.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):When someone's nested, extinguish them. Yay coding.

This technically wouldn't make much sense considering nesting someone just doesn't magically removes fire.

You could say that the resin acts as a fire retardant blanket, although this wouldn't make much sense either as resin burns pretty well so eh.. it may have to gameplay over lore here?

neutral about this. I can see why it'd be annoying sure but if the marines managed to set a marine alight then they have to A)be super close and set them alight/throw a fire nade at them or B) have a WP SADAR on standby(which unless you captured him and he happened to have a mag harness means there's no point delaying the inevitable of losing if he's that far into the hive)

I believe "Drenches in sticky, foul-smelling resin" is the flavor text?

Ok but still it seems a little unrealistic in a sense.

Fine. That's a "plausible" scenario, but I don't really care if it's plausible, I just want the ayys to be able to deal with a WP hit near the edge of the nests that sets 3-4 captured 'rines ablaze through the doors.
