Any other xeno players here that cant stand queens that dont allow slashing?

They make me very salty, they make shit excuses In my opinion and all it does is get Xenos killed. I always try to have huggers on me but you cant just infect 24/7 and I havent really seen murder boning they fear so much that makes them not allow it

Tbh, if the queen doesn't allow slashing I'm not going to do any fighting that doesn't involve the tackle hug hug marine players hate, and I'm going to resent her all game.

Realistically, the queen should allow slashing at the latest when xenos go after survivors.

I don't entirely see the issue over it since being that aggressive that early is usually never a good idea due to low numbers and you should just not immediately engage everything you come across.

I allow slashing just after the marines land so bumblefuck young runner (666) doesn't slash up the already hugged, unarmed, being dragged back survivor host. After I do allow slashing, however, I order all xenos but one or two back to the hive and say it's fo self defense.

Xenos don't need to infect humans, there are enough monkeys at round start that unless the xenos are getting their shit ROCKED, they can just kill all the humans they see.

I knew exactly what you mean. I played Queen during the round you started complaining here on the forums. I saw this post pop like, a minute and a half after you died 5-10 minutes into the round.

Look, I get it. You wanna merc the Marines. You think it's necessary to have lethal force when dealing with people loaded out with rifles, grenade and rocket launchers, and all manner of explosives. That's cool.

However: disabled slashing is there for a reason. It's there to prevent Rambo Xenos from killing too many Marine/Survivor players before we've got a large enough hive. If the Queen says no slashing, don't complain. You chose to play Xeno, which means you chose to have a character that isn't supposed to have any free will. The Queen says no, then it's no.

Slashing is not allowed in the beginning because aliens are assumed to not have any threats. The moment the marines land, aliens should be discouraged from rushing them and ramboing like idiots. The idea of allowing slashing should be when the marines prove to be violently hostile, chasing after her swarm and threatening the hive. Letting the claws loose should be for when the time is right, not just because runner 112 demands it.

Remember, if you don't like the queen's rules, try to be queen yourself.

I've seen poor players waste 20 larva in 20 minutes. Absolutely not exaggerating.

The only larva that actually are important are the ones in the hands of skilled players, whom are only harmed by slashing being off.

It is true that a lot of xeno players tend to lack discipline, which in turn gets them killed. From roaming lone crushers/ravs/prae/etc who only want to do their own thing, to young tier 1s who can't wait to mature first before rushing into combat, it is hard to keep xenos from carelessly dying from their lust for combat.

But what other options does the queen have to punish foolish behavior? Sometimes I wish there was a way to get xenos to see things my way, rather than being utterly powerless to control them, to deal with those that won't obey.

Removing slashing is the only option the queen has to punish her hive, but what if I only want to punish a single xeno? What if I want a different punishment that is just as effective at putting people in line? Maybe one day, the devs will add that. Until then, we either can punish xenos with temporary removal of slashing, or just by yelling at everyone and calling them idiots for 5 minutes.

It would be nice to have the option to separate the Horribads from the hivemind some way. Either by killing or removing their link. It would prevent them from Growing/Evolving.

Realistically it's a prisoner's dilemma, just like waiting until the queen evolves to evolve. If good players don't, then bad players always get the evolve slots first.

The real answer is to allow slashing but force the hive to stay in the caves unless you have some robust hunters or put together hunting parties, but rambos run off and die anyway. The real goal is to keep the hive strong enough that good players can evolve to their desired caste and then carry the team while the queen stays safe, and then have a prolonged and heavy attack on the marines so they have a skeleton crew.

Then it's critical that you either sneak on the dropship, sneak on the pod, or minimize the time between the queen touching the console and attacking.
