Simple B18 Improvements that will make it better

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): I've recently rolled B18 and had tons of enjoyment using it, its really a great choice for specs. Or is it? The B18 has some weird little weakness in it that easily causes many marines to laugh at it.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Brings the B18 back as a good all-around choice for a spec who doesn't love snipers or smartguns (who doesn't?).

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):

1. Improve burn resistance: It easily takes 2-3 acid globs to put a B18 into critical condition. Awhile a B18 can survive ravenger swipes and crusher smashes and still survive in 100%

2. Reinforced boots: Its laughable when you see a de-footed B18, as the feet are a extremely week area to attack, I mean the godforsaken the damn gloves are even armored!

3. Let the helmet take more huggers: I know its kinda of a awkward topic but the B18 helmet is only useful when its not broken. I suggest its buffed to take 4-5 NOTE: that is no changes to huggers come anytime soon.

ALSO:You could possibly make it work alike a Predator mask, and require lots (and i mean lots) of slashing to pop off, so the user will become huggable. Again only if there isn't changes to huggers anytime soon.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): As said above.


Give some input, would this make the B18 too powerful? Or is something missing? Discuss it out.

B18 is not fully isolated nanosuit, it gives protection, not isolation from surrounding area. 1 glob hit is insta death for marine, 2-3 crit is already more than enough for B18.

Wait, WHICH acid gloves are you talking about? We have pretty many of them, you need to specify.

The Predator mask uses an RNG so that it might as well be stuck on with rubber bands.

Honestly, B18 needs a buff, but I like Toroic's B18 suggestions more. Neutral/-1.

Want helmet to hold more huggers? Play more safe and bring aliens you killed to researcher for resin pasta for your helmet. It's that simple.

Spitter type lethal acid, not boiler acid or anything like that. Boiler lethals should always be a instant kill.

I'm talking about how the B18 can easily survive ancient hunters and crushers and ravengers, with little to no damage. But then a young spitter can hit you 2-3 times with lethal acid (acid globs) then you go into near crit.

Its silly how the armor almost bypasses acid, its more or less the same as normal armor. Awhile i understand this lore wise, but game play wise its a huge weakness that is more or less silly.

The whole point here is you don't need to have a huge re-make of the B18 to make it better, its special armor that is designed to take way more damage.

Well, then it's should be buffed a little. For example, not 3, but 6 lethal acid globes. It will make Spec still vulnerable, but will let him at least retreat, if he is not an idiot.

The B18 IIRC has decent burn protection, it's the pain crit that it doesn't stop.

It could probably use toggleable Tramadol/Oxycodone auto-injectors in addition to the OP proposals.

That said, B18 on combat drugs is a terrifying juggernaut except for the unstoppable combat hugging trump card.

I have never seen a b18 spec and gone 'oh shit' as an ayy, You can instantly tackle them, you can hug them, you can screech, stomp, Pounce (if they dont have a riot shield) etc them all the same as normal marines. All they have going for them is slash immunity...And I dont slash anyway, ive gotten to ancient hunter and didnt even toggle harm intent on until sulaco assault.
I really dont think b18 can be made a viable use of a spec coin without drastic changes (Such as what toroic suggested) personally I would opt to just move it to research so that the marines have a reason to bring them materials. One guy with a b18 isnt a threat, a squad with b18s is actually sorta threatening.

Yeah, b18's main liability is that combathugging cucks it way too easily, but that's changing/being removed so who knows what it'll be like come the apparent pending changes to the mechanic.
