Alien & Marine "Tutorial" videos...

I was thinking, since we got quite a few new players, or just players that don't really know the way on how to play,

What If a nice admin could make a video for both Mahreenz and Aliums?

For the Mahreenz on where to stand depending on your role, how to maneuver, where to shoot [apparently you need to get told for that], how to react when you see a Xeno, and not like this: http://i.imgur.com/pFnFtPB.gifv ...

For the Aliums, a guide on how to respect what the Queen says, and act in different scenarios, but especially on how to hunt/attack a marine group, or one single mahreen.

When I was playing as Alium, I found It QUITE hard playing as a Runner, because for some reason I cant click directly and I end up mouse dragging, which doesn't do scheit, and It was a bit hard for me, though as a Sentinel I found It much easier for some reason, even though I didn't really got to fight a lot.

So yeah, let me hear thy thoughts on this.

That sounds more like a mouse problem / direct problem on your part with the mouse dragging, instead of an actual problem with the server.

As for the other suggestions, I think it would do some good, especially that one part about the aliens respecting the Queens choices / decisions. It gets extremely annoying when aliens refuse to listen to the Queen when it clearly says in the rules that what the Queen says, goes.

Tell me what to do in the video such as a do this or don't do this and when I film get help in special areas to do it and not get raged when I suddenly lol blow up a alien... Or when I lol throw face hugged as drone

Yeah sorry, I read it is a do and don't do video...it's like 2 am..I'm turning in, night people,I'll,still do a tutorial video if you tell me what to record

My computer may be a piece of crap, but I do have a headset and I'm sure I could get my hands on some video editing software. I'm just not sure how one would go about recording a Marine Training video on PC... and how to make it interesting given the fact that 2d spessmen is very boring to watch.

Maybe we could make this into a project? Voice acting, video editing, stuff like that? Have a specified group of marines come on against a specified group of aliens at a certain time so that we could run through different scenarios and give general tips?

Yeah... Probably. At the very least, you'd need to answer a LOT of questions, maybe help with some video-editing. But Goddamnit if that wouldn't be a cool little thing to have.

Well, It was only a suggestion, but you should really do these on the tutorials...

Aliens: How to stalk up on a Marine, Communicate, Evade groups/HiT [A dangerous threat], Attack a squad of Marines, How to build a nest, How to be a good Queen and How to react in critical situations. [The basic as what does this and what does that shouldn't be put in the videos, due to the fact that we have forums for that.]

Marines: Use all firing lines, Avoid friendly fire, How to escape bad situations/evade aliens, React in critical situations and Build an efficient FoB. Oh and what to do when a marine from your squad Is getting healed/opening a door. [Again, the basic stuff Is in the forums or whatever.]

Remember. If we're actually going to do this, you need to be a naturally competent marine. You will more than likely be representing the Colonial Marines server.

What I'm hoping to do, to make things easier, is to have the people playing the marines on the 'Tutorial videos' to play their own voices. Otherwise, there may have to be script writing.

You will need some heavy editing , to make a understandable video.

Also , a script is more applicable , in those situation , where you are teaching people.

I mean hell, maybe we could make a little bit of a storyline and series out of this. Make a youtube channel and try to draw in more players.

I think the three main resources we'd need to start this party are:
1) The people
2) The time
3) The server slot (time to do recording)
