Should Weenie get a new nickname?

Recently, I been hearing word about a possible new whitelist role, one that has me more excited than being predator: The Admiral.

It is a role of great respect and dignity, something I'd strive to achieve on here for the title and power that comes with it. Fuck being a predator, admiralty is where it is at.

But then I realized something... Being a highly important role, I doubt they would want someone whose nickname is "weenie" to have the rank of admiral in the USCM, and have been doing some thinking lately about the issue. If I want a chance at possibly getting this role (should it come to pass, anyways), I might have to get a more respectable, less silly nickname that would make sense for someone to have in such a high ranking position. Otherwise it would be like trying to apply for a predator named Butt Sniffer.

And, even if the Admiral role doesn't come to past, sometimes I wonder... Considering how I behave in game, I am beginning to wonder if having the nickname of "Weenie" is appropriate anymore. Despite his nickname, he is always doing stupidly brave things, being fairly macho and, when in a command role, being very unweenie like.

In the beginning, it made sense, since I was a noob, and thus a weenie. But now, I am fairly experienced and hardened, and have even taken up leadership roles where I tried my best to be a mature, serious leader.

But, on the other hand... After playing for so long, I begin to wonder if I really should just change it to something more cliche and predictable, rather than keep the one of a kind nickname that has earned Reno a small following... Of a handful of people, but still.

So, I ask you... Would you rather Reno get a manlier nickname, or to just keep his old nickname for character's sake?

Idk, I don't mind nicknames, but I've always had more respect for characters that can become well known without using a nickname.

Having an admiral who has the nickname weenie would open interesting roleplay possiblities, as people discuss how the guy with the nickname of a weenie managed to work his way up to the admiral position. It would be far more interesting than changing to some generic nickname. As a result I'd personally keep the nickname. The best nicknames are the ones that basically somewhat define the character's personality or their history in some way, as opposed to being generic snowflake 'ghost' 'shadow' 'Kamikaze'.

I been thinking about it myself lately, and I think that maybe it would be fitting to keep the nickname, if only to nostalgia's sake.

It reminds me of when I was a noob, back when I truly was a weenie, with no combat experience, no bravery, and little else. Now I am a war vet, but despite that I still hold the title of weenie, not because I enjoy the jokes at my expense, but to remind myself how far I gotten, from 0 to almost hero.

A nickname is earned on first impression or when you do something notable. And it sticks with you from that point on.

Nicknames should NOT be badass, they should be stupid and humiliating.

What is this admiral thing? what can an admiral do that the CO can't? not to mention that a marshal is a more appropriate title if we're going to white-list it because of the marine theme.

Edit: if the marines get a marshal than the xenos should get a new class

Admirals are a whitelist role that is designed, at least from what I heard, to ease the burden of command by providing an experienced, trustworthy player to provide leadership for the marines, who has the last say in ANY commands given and can override orders they don't agree with.

They are pretty much elite Commanders that have proven themselves to be leaders that can be trusted not to screw up like most people new to the whole leadership thing.

I'd say 'Tender' would be a suited nickname. Just because whenever I see him, he's stupidly sentimental or invested into his people. To the point where you got tunnel vision when treating a wounded marine, and resulting in me having to shield you with my body.
