IS building a MECH possible?
I've been playing for quite a while and I noticed that there are Gygax parts scattered around the planetside and wondered if you could actually assemble them to build a Gygax?

Shouldn't be.

Re: IS building a MECH possible?
Talked with Apop a few months ago and he even admitted that he should make a sad trumpet sound for when people build it, since the whole construction calls for the creation of a non-existent item (Gygax).
It was entirely removed and the parts are only a sad reminder of it.

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

To my understanding that used to be possible, but is no longer possible.

Don't make Yungcuz sad like this, guys
I play as this guy, proudly being dismembered by extraterrestrials since 2015.
Sometimes I might play other guys, you never know.

Re: IS building a MECH possible?
There are not enough materials to build a mech except for maybe a ripley. Even then, weapons don't exist for them.

Re: IS building a MECH possible?
Building mechs is impossible now. It used to be that you could use the protolathe in research to make ripley circuit boards, and make the ripley parts with the exosuit fabricator, but the ripley circuit boards have since been removed from the protolathe. Also, the robot body parts were removed from the exosuit fabricator so that you can't make cyborgs anymore.

Re: IS building a MECH possible?
I think it would be a neat thing to try making it so the marines can build mechs again, but to also give the aliens a significant buff to match, to see how it would change combat. But I think it would probably just end up with Marines having a really hard time in combat without support from their mech buddies.
