MP rule change / Change in MP starting gear

Suggestion Title: A change in the MP rule / Change in MP starting gear

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Well, in the rules it states that if an MP carries a lethal weapon before the Sulaco is boarded, then they will have a temp ban. However, when the MPs spawn when the round starts, they spawn with a Marine belt and within the belt, they already carry a M4A3 Service Pistol and 2 clips of ammo.

So I guess it will be up to the developers, since two changes can happen. Either the rules can be mended and simply change it to "With the exception of the spawned starting pistol" or remove the marine belt from the MP gear when they spawn, and they pick up an empty belt from the MP lockers.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Depends on the change taken, it will either cut down on MPs who get mistakenly banned and helps fix admin confusion when they check the gear of an MP and notice a pistol on them. Or stops MPs from thinking they can kill people who shoot at them with a pistol instead of the tazer they are given.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Like said above.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): It's up to the developers.

While we're at it MP armour is the stupidest shit imaginable. First off it cuts your speed because it's based off riot armour meaning if you have to chase the marine who just shot up the id line you have to take off your armour to match his speed,making you a one shot cripple,also I'm not sure if the riot helmets setting were changed since it's still called riot helm,but those were designed to absorb melee damage rather than bullets.

As for MP's with guns I'm all for it,but I guess that's up to the admins cause they gotta deal with the shitters,I remember having a marine break into the bridge and shoot it up with an assault rifle,I pulled out my pistol,aimed for his hand and blew it clean off which was a ton of fun.

I'm pretty sure (as it is with LO), the starting pistol is exempt from that rule.

Or, at least that's how I interpret it, since it's there

Do you have any idea how heavy the riot gear is? That's because it's there to protect you, no one is forcing you to wear the armors. Everyone just wears it.

.I'm aware of the weight,but why not put a set of LO armour in as well. Why are MP's given two options,wear bulky armour that prevents them largely from doing their only job which is chasing rogue marines or take the armour off and die? It's not like police IRL wear Riot gear all the time or nothing anyways.

Well the Mp armor is both heavy,and almost impervious to alien melee to,pretty balanced
And i think the starting sidearm is except from that rule

I could always make a MP variant of the standard Marine armor with different colors and markings. Modern (US Army) MPs usually wear similar uniforms to the normal soldiers.

Good suggestions. MPs will soon start with the basic armor vest (the one the LO wears) and an empty belt.

Don't forget a /tg/ sec helmet written "MP" on it, maybe on the armor too.

Exactly why it should probably be a special marine armour,maybe one per squad. Rather than for the MP's.
And to unknownmurder, I'm not here to fucking fight with ya bud,all I'm saying is it would be kinda cool to toss a set of LO type armour in there,a simple mapping suggestion.
