Between 20-40 depending on work schedule, mainly later times, but will be around during the day as well.

I was staff on this server.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each situation (BELOW) the situation. If you start it on the same line, I'll assume you can't follow directions and auto-decline your application.



1. A player is firing his weapon in the briefing area near the start of the round.

Normally I would assess the situation, check for escalation, assuming he is in the wrong I would inform him he needs to stop, if he hits people with his rounds I would sleep him and go from there. Ethier way a warning would be issued via admin tools.


2. The Sulaco has a breach to space.
As a mod a breach cannot be sealed so I'd alert an admin, find the player who breached the ship and speak with them. Judge intention and move from there. Warning added if done for 'funz'


3. The marines want the nuke codes because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who.
I would decline the request for the codes and would instead send a mother report giving an estimate of 2-6 life signs on the planet.


4. A Sulaco researcher has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online.
Not sure if this is possible as it wasn't when I was a mod. Though the rules state he is responsible for what he hands out. Assuming he wasn't trying to hit a hostile I would sleep the marine and speak with him and likely ban him for 24 hours depending on players hurt/killed. Note on incident added.


5. A played is starting to talk about the things he did with your mom last night over Ahelp.
Personally I'd deal with it and not care, but would add a note and likely leave a comment in Slack about the incident.


6. You notice a marine with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules.
Inform them via a whisper the name is not allowed and to change it by next round.

6a. The marine is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, noone has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
Just because he didn't get caught doesn't change the fact. He still needs to change the name, ignorance of the rules is no excuse. Note added if he fights it more or doesn't change the name.


7. You see a Sulaco Doctor with an M41A rifle strapped to his back running around the briefing area. There are wounded in medbay, and the other doctor is in surgery.
Inform him unless his life is in danger he cannot have a primary. Leave a note.


8. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.

Inform him he is not allowed. Period. Add a note that I have warned him.

9. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the Sulaco, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
A MOTHER report for the Marines, and while I'm not sure what I could do for the aliens other then to inform the queen her hive is getting restless.


10. The round ends, and a marine starts unloading his weapons on other marines.
Immediate ban as per the rules for EORG, leave a note for others.

11. A marine who has recently awoken is using soap to slip other marines.
If he does it once or twice let it go. If he continues to do it tell him to stop. Leave a note.

12. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Inform him of EOF and leave a note for others to see. If this marine has a habit of EOF then a 24 hour ban and a post to admins.



Any additional information you'd like to add?

I left a topic saying I would be gone, though my issue consumed my life a lot harder than I thought it would. If I'm not allowed to return to duty I understand as it has been some time. Though I wish to play again and I enjoyed moderating and thought I did a good job at it.

I know LocalizedDownpour well, and I find that he's both active on the forums and on the server. For me, that's enough to indicate an interest in the server.
Furthermore, he was staff before. That solidifies the application for me. If he could hold the position once, I see no problems with him holding it once more.

Most of our mod team hasn't been around that long. Not a lot of us know you except maybe Vega, Bio, and Gentle. Your answers are pretty alright, but I haven't seen you in game much.

I'll have to watch you more in game or at the very least get the opinions of some of our older staff before I can give a valid option on this. Gonna be neutral for now.

to be honest, haven't seen you much, so I'm just gonna go on your answers.

1) this answer is alright, but with the "take it from there" you might wanna go a bit more in-depth, also add a note.

2)Just to say mods can seal breaches, apart from that good answer.

3) normally you would just wait for the automatic mother announcement, also if you didn't know, only head staff has access to nuke codes.

4) this answer seems alright, but also you might want to speak to the researcher that handed it out, saying something along the lines of "don't give out grenades to standards give them to people you trust not to grief with them."

5) this seems ideal, also another option you have is muting them from ahelp for a couple of minuites to let the cool off.

6)just admin PM, no need to be subtle also add a note in case you have to get off, so if another staff member catches him with the same name they can ban/warn then for not changing thier name.

6a) i like this answer, just check notes in case he has been warned before.

7) I would just add a little to the Pm like "do your job, help the wounded in medbay, if you are seen frontlining again you will be Jbanned."

8) perfect

9)maybe go in a bit more detail with the mother report, possibly give the marines a time limit (bluff of course).

10) as i say again, add a bit more detail, immeditae 3 hour ban.
