Decapitation/Cloning suggestion!

Post by DatzZooIsSwag » 20 Nov 2016, 12:23

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): When on the battlefield, many Marines are decapitated in combat, as well on the station when the hive invades, or when a single Xeno has found its way on. This got me thinking, decapitations, like the Commander's which I just witnessed, would be much more symbolic and realistic if cloning of that person would be made impossible. I also realized that reattachment surgery would also play a role in it, but here's my assessment: you may still reattach the head, and then clone the person, BUT when you do it will have extreme adverse effects like random muscle spasms and cause mental retardation and insanity, including random speeches, ex: "THEY'RE COMING!! HAHHAHAHA". These effects can be helped by medicine, but are never 100% treatable.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It would add a realistic downside to cloning, and would allow balance. It would provide a efficient way to dwindle the marine numbers because dead people aren't being cloned right and left and sent out to battle again.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Still decapitating feature. You could decrease the chance of decapitation (if that's possible)

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): When a person is decapitated, and they go to clone them an error pops up stating "Mental Interface Failure," like that of when the person has logged off. Add mental retardation and insanity, add medicines that would help control it, and a time of effect, so it wears off after a while, and they have to go get more meds.

Cloning is being removed, there's no point in making it worse than it is.

We're thinking about how to fix easy decaps, but cloning won't be around forever. Locking.
