Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Makes it a tad more dark and gritty along with more realistic? I mean for example when examining a marine with a missing limb the examine text will just state "Is missing their right arm" well along the lines of that (and I can't quite remember the actual sentence as its 2am) with this in place it would add a tad more 'detailed' sentence.(Can' think of the exact sentence yet)
A more common examine text is "Has some nasty scabs and bruises" (well along the lines of that) which imo doesn't make much sense if he just got beaten the crap out of by a 12 foot space iguana.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):Much obliged Masked and Steel.
Example:
TheMaskedMan2 wrote: My idea towards this is essentially once a limb or body part passes a certain high damage threshold, it will give a flavor text description when examined, similiar to the "X's face melts off!" but yknow, lasting more than one combat log.
I'll do examples of what I can, and I propose two different flavor texts depending on if it is burn or brute damage.
Head: Their head is a bloody mangled mess! / Their face is an unrecognizable mass of goo!
Chest: Their chest is brutally torn, exposing organs and bleeding profusely. / Their chest sizzles as burnt flesh falls off in chunks.
Groin: Their groin has been ripped into heavily, leaving nothing but a bloody pulp! / The only thing that remains of their groin is a sizzling puddle of indescribable remains.
Arm: Their arm is hanging on by a thread, much of the mass having been torn away. / Their arm is a melted bubbling mess, bones seen as skin oozes off.
Hand: Their hand looks barely functional and limp. / Their hand is a blackened mass, burnt to the bone.
Leg: Hardly anything remains of their leg, stripped of meat and flesh alike. / Their leg is limp and twitching, skin and pieces of flesh peeling off in masses.
Extra Idea from Steel, which would be pretty good to see in:
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): CodingSteelpoint wrote:I would also propose that the "damage text" is somewhat randomised.
For example, lets assume that if a limb (say the right hand) suffers more than 50 brute damage, that wound is given one of several different flavor texts as to the extent of the injury.
Using TheMaskedMan2's example, one person might get "Their hand looks barely functional and limp", but another person might get "Their hand is mangled and bloodied almost beyond recognition"
