Yes.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each situation (BELOW) the situation. If you start it on the same line, I'll assume you can't follow directions and auto-decline your application.



1. A player is firing his weapon in the briefing area near the start of the round.
I would freeze him, then ahelp him asking why he did it. If it was an accident (one or two shots, perhaps,) then I'd let him go. If he gave a poor yet understandable response (I was suffering PTSD, etc.,) then he would have a temporary ban and have it notated. If the response was along the lines of plain trolling, then he would be give him a major ban and notify an admin for a permaban appeal.


2. The Sulaco has a breach to space.
I would kill the air around the area, then notify an engineer to fix the breech. I would then check any possible notes on the objects to see if it was tampered with, and a tampering player accordingly.


3. The marines want the nuke codes because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who.
I would notify the marines that their request is being denied by Central Command. I would also tell them that it was unnecessary and to complete their orders.Then I would then ask an admin to send out a life scan emote and check on the aliens and ask the remaining ones to speed the game up if it was going on for too long.


4. A Sulaco researcher has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online.
I would freeze the offending marine, message him to sort out the situation, alert him that he will be banned, then proceed to give him a ban. Then I'll message the Researcher and ask them why they made napalm grenades. Assuming that the escalation level was appropriate, I'd tell them to simply cease making those. If not, then I would give them a soft ban, likely 24 hours or so. After the incident, I'd alert the staff chat.


5. A played is starting to talk about the things he did with your mom last night over Ahelp.
I'd mute him from ahelp, put a note in his record, then carry on.


6. You notice a marine with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules.
I'd whisper the marine, tell him that his name is against the rules and ask him to change it at the beginning of the next round. In the mean time, I'd get an admin to give him a ridiculous rule-appropriate name.

6a. The marine is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, noone has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
I'll direct them to Marine Rule #2 http://cm-ss13.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=5094. Then I would proceed as above, inquiring in the staff chat what the other staff members think about the name for their opinions.


7. You see a Sulaco Doctor with an M41A rifle strapped to his back running around the briefing area. There are wounded in medbay, and the other doctor is in surgery.
I would ask the Doctor what they think they were doing. Then I would tell them to relinquish the rifle to Logistics if the station was not under attack, or if the station was under attack, to still head back to medbay and do their job. If they did not comply, then I seek to get them job banned and put the incident into the player notes.


8. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
I would message them and tell them to cease because they are not supposed to know how to do it, and not having a doctor is not an excuse. The injured person needs surgery right away, then they could be put into a cryo bag until they are on the station.


9. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the Sulaco, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
I would message the leaders on both sides and ask them to engage. If I have the ability, I will do the Queen Mother command to inform on how many marines are left. Then I would ask the Queen to go on the offensive so as to not draw out the round. I would also see about getting a Predator spawned if things got bad enough.


10. The round ends, and a marine starts unloading his weapons on other marines.
I would freeze the marine, then delay the round end and give him a warning. I would then put it into his notes.


11. A marine who has recently awoken is using soap to slip other marines.
I would message the marine and ask him to stop. If he continued, then I would give him a very short ban (hour or two).


12. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
I would tell him that that was an unnecessary escalation, inform him that murder is not an appropriate response to an unarmed attack, and then ban him. Then I would put it in the notes and inform the staff chat.

Even though i am of no staff i would like to fit my two cents in.

For the rule 5 You said you would Ahelp mute him and carry on. Regarless you shouldn't be effected by the comment and shouldn't respond in anyway or form.

For the rule 10 The thing for EORG or End of round Grief. Its a 3 hour ban in any way.

For the rule 11 Oh fucking well if they slip them. If its the beginning of the round it shouldn't matter. Now Purposely slipping and getting them killed? Thats different.
So a Strong -1 on me

Most of your answers are okay, except for questions 10 and 11, as already outlined.

Despite the fact your forum account is well over a year old, I have personally not seen you ingame at all, or on the forums recently.

Gonna have to sit at -1 for the reasons above.

+1 Fickmancher use to be a staff member, and a good one at that. The only reason he needs to reapply is because he was removed for inactivity instead of retiring, so he gets my immediate +1
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

I'm going with a neutral on this one, I haven't seen you much, but maybe that's just because you don't break the rules so I have no reason to. I remember you being a good staff member before, so that's why I'm not going to -1 this.

Putting a note for number 5 is absolutely warranted as it is an issue of disrespecting staff and that can factor into future issues with the player.

Slipping is fine in the shower area at roundstart, but if it progresses into briefing or requisitions, we need to be telling people to knock it off.

I know very little about Fickmacher, but the only black mark I can find is that he was removed for inactivity instead of formally retiring. Therefore, I will gladly give my +1 based off of the application alone. Fickmacher appears to have a good head on him and solid knowledge of how to moderate.
