Sensormate Hud is one of the most useful vend items along with standard binos, a bobby basic PFC shouldn't be wasting time or points on a laser designator unless there somehow isn't a single RTO or SL running spotters (Hint: They always are, they have the skill that's part of the reason why they pick it). Remember, your guide is going to be used by newer players who probably don't understand how to effectively JTAC, nor will they understand why JTAC 1 is so bad. They will be flooding comms with bad coords that are either straight up wrong, or stale, thereby making their time and effort a complete waste, that's if they're not ignored by JTAC buddies who will prio a JTAC role over them.

The reason why the HUD is so useful is simply the ability to be able to get a rough idea of how long a patient has left before they're perma, which is an essential tool for CPR during mass casualty waves, this is something a PFC will have to become proficient at (imo from round 1) and is arguably the best thing a PFC can do within a round. The hud gives you critical information that you cannot get with a simple examine, and is even more of a precious commodity now that "protags" take NVGs and other such items.

At most they could try dragging you to a medic or CPR the body and hope one passes by, if you're one of the folks that intend to do those with it, then good on you. But I doubt most folks play PFC to cart defibbable bodies around.
And if you're taking the HUD without the intent of doing those, then just pick something else.
nah as a pfc like one fifth of a job is recovering dead bodies. its is 100% your job

NVGs do not occupy eye slots, they go on the helmet and they're not even that good (blurry overlay, inability to use scope/binos), SL lazes are 6s, RTOs 3s, JTAC 1 9s, and JTAC 0 being 12s, it's a linear decrease, but even then people that play RTO/SLs as dedicated spotters are rare, no guarantee of those "dedicated spotters" being good ones either, a PFC that wants to try their hands on it could be better than nothing, as learning experience if nothing else, or for CAS sentry/mortar flares so the mortar can shoot at it without further spotting.

If a medic really needs a PFC to CPR, they don't need a medhud PFC to do it, and they can just talk+point to beg for someone to CPR their patients, medhud or no, and if you're a PFC with no medHUD in the situation, you could CPR two-three bodies simultaneously by yourself, just a couple or so PFCs willing to CPR can handle more bodies than it seems.

And if a clueless player really wants the most foolproof pick, they could always just go for the boring AP mags, B12 armor, large mag pouch, they're always useful even post-mortem on account of other folks being able to loot them.
